Sexual abuse support

Updated: June 5, 2025

At TikTok, our goal is to create a safe and welcoming community. We do not allow content, real or AI-generated, containing any form of sexual abuse on our platform. This includes child sexual abuse material (CSAM), grooming, image-based sexual abuse, non-consensual sexual acts, and sextortion. You can read more about these policies in our Community Guidelines.

Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM)

Any sexual or sexualized images, videos, or content that involves a young person under the age of 18. This includes anything made by others or by the young person themselves, and even fake images made to look real using digital tools or AI.

Grooming

When someone tries to build trust with a young person, often by being nice or friendly, with the hidden goal of abusing or taking advantage of them sexually.

Image-based sexual abuse

Owning, sharing, or helping others get intimate images or videos of someone without their consent. This includes fake or edited images. Even if the original image was taken with consent, sharing it without permission is still abuse.

Non-consensual sexual acts

Any sexual touching or activity that happens without clear consent from everyone involved. This includes serious crimes like rape or molestation.

Sextortion

Threatening to post or share someone’s intimate images or videos unless they give money, send more sexual content, or do sexual acts.

Sexual harassment

Doing or saying things online that make someone feel uncomfortable or singled out in a sexual way. This can include:

  • Using sexual emojis or jokes toward someone
  • Making comments about their intimate body parts
  • Adding sexual gestures or sounds to their videos or posts
  • Maliciously revealing personal info about their sex life, like their past partners or sexual orientation

What do I do if I come across content that shows or promotes sexual abuse, or mocks survivors of sexual abuse on TikTok?

Content on TikTok that shows or promotes sexual abuse, or mocks survivors of sexual abuse, is a violation of our rules and you can report it to us. If the content seems to imply or show sexual activity or sexual abuse of a person under the age of 18, it may be child sexual abuse material (CSAM), which is strictly prohibited on our platform. If you see suspected CSAM, report it immediately.

Your active involvement in reporting sexual abuse content helps us maintain a safe online environment. Remember, to prevent revictimization and unintended harm, NEVER comment, share, download, or interact with sexual abuse content in any way. We will not disclose your identity to the person whose content or account you’re reporting. Please notify us immediately through our in-app reporting tools and be aware of additional external reporting and support options.

  • In-app reporting
    • Report the content to TikTok under the 'Violence, abuse, and criminal exploitation':
      • For adults, select Sexual exploitation and abuse.
      • For young people, select Exploitation and abuse of people under 18.
  • External reporting
  • TikTok supports external partners and resources for young people and adults who may be concerned about image-based sexual abuse and sextortion
    • If you are under 18, or an adult concerned that nude, partially nude, or sexually explicit images or videos taken before you were 18 have or may be shared online, please refer to Take It Down, a tool designed by NCMEC to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse by removing explicit content and preventing it from being shared or reshared online.
    • If you are aged 18 years and older and you are concerned your adult intimate images or videos have or may be shared online without your consent, you can contact StopNCII.org for assistance to remove explicit content and prevent it from being shared or reshared online.
